Iriswoods Lebanon Wedding
January 31, 2025
How I Met Jason and Nina
Jason first hired me for his proposal to Nina at Norris Lake near Knoxville. I met them that day and instantly felt like I found my people. They were warm, funny, laid-back, and so easy to connect with. I left their proposal thinking, I hope I get to photograph them again someday.
When They Asked Me to Photograph the Wedding
A little later, they reached out about their wedding, and I could barely speak because I wanted that opportunity so much. I felt comfortable with them from the moment we met, and Nina looked like the kind of bride any photographer dreams of capturing. They still searched for a venue at that point, and once Jason mentioned his connection to the Nashville area, they decided on Iriswoods in Lebanon. I felt thrilled because any chance to go back to Nashville fills me with creative energy.
Planning With Paula
After some time, Nina let me know that Paula joined the team as their planner. I felt relieved right away because a solid planner keeps everything smooth and stress-free. Paula matched their style and created a space where they could just enjoy their day.

My First Time at Iriswoods
When the wedding day arrived, I drove to Lebanon and saw Iriswoods for the first time. I pulled into the property and fell in love instantly. Tall trees wrapped around the grounds, the ceremony site sat tucked into nature, and the whole layout felt cozy instead of overwhelming. I love venues that keep everything close together because that warmth shows up in the photos. Iriswoods felt like a home in the woods.
The Most Perfect November Weather
The weather that day surprised me. November usually brings a chill, yet the air felt warm and soft, with a touch of fall. The yellow leaves glowed under the sunlight, and the entire property looked dreamy. I walked inside and headed upstairs, and that’s when I saw Nina.
Nina Getting Ready
She looked absolutely mesmerizing. The cream and beige tones she chose created the classiest, softest palette, and every detail blended beautifully. I stood there for a moment thinking, Oh my… everything looks perfect.
Meanwhile, Jason and his guys wore cream suits that matched the tone of the entire day. They laughed nonstop and enjoyed their time together while Nina finished getting ready.
A Ceremony Filled With Emotion
The sun dipped a little lower while everyone gathered outside, and the ceremony space glowed. Nina walked out with her sweet dad, and I swear Jason’s jaw dropped straight to the floor. She looked breathtaking. His expression told the entire story of their love in one second.
Portraits and Family Photos
After they exchanged vows, we moved into family photos and bridal portraits. Every single image came out beautiful because everything aligned—the colors, the weather, the venue, their energy, all of it. I honestly couldn’t pick a favorite moment from the day because the entire experience felt perfect.
A Speech That Melted Everyone
Later, Jason’s daughter stood up and gave a speech that nearly broke me. She said she hopes to marry a man like her dad one day. She mentioned that he never cries, and he cried right there. The love in that moment filled the entire room.
A Day I’ll Never Forget
Jason and Nina created such a beautiful celebration. I felt honored to photograph their story from the Norris Lake proposal to this beautiful Iriswoods wedding. Their day reminded me why I love photographing couples who welcome me into their lives with so much warmth.
